This group exists to encourage people who, if they had a voice, would have voted against the ELCA's Churchwide Assembly's vote to 1. Adopt "Human Sexuality: Gift and Trust" 2. Allow for same sex unions to be held in ELCA churches. 3. To allow people in same-sex, committed relationships to be ordained ministers within the ELCA. This is not a group that is intended to be hostile toward any group or people. It is an attempt to utilize FB to gather people who at this time need to pray, love, support, and encourage one another as we seek God's guidance in response to the ELCA's Churchwide Assembly's action. It is also not a group that is simply against these resolutions. It is a group that is 1. FOR having an external witness that guards our unity and protects us from implementing our own desire. 2. FOR remembering that the Bible has served this purpose (and so much more!) for 2,000 years. 3. FOR maintaining unity with the majority of Christians in the world, many of whom happen to be Lutheran by name and cannot agree with the ELCA's actions. 4. FOR being freed up to preach and teach God's word as law and gospel, in order that healing, wholeness, justice, mercy, forgiveness and grace may be lived out in Spirit and Truth. 5. FOR being about God's mission in the world through Christ Jesus our Lord by the power of the Holy Spirit. Love covers a multitude of sins. Perfect love casts out fear. Love is laying down our lives for our friends. We are to love God and our neighbor. However, this does not mean to call good bad, bad good, or sin anything other than what it is.
